stuny Posted August 28, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted August 28, 2007 When visiting my dear friend (and Forum member) Gerard in France he showed me the results of capturing RAW from the DMR and making them into TIFF files, and did so with several applications. The Capture One was best at that by a wide margin. My version is 1 1/2 years old, and its usability reflects 1985 to 1990 usability htinking. I hope that they've gotten better with newer versions. andybarton Posted August 28, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted August 28, 2007 Version 4 should be available very soon. Â Capture One does give the best colour rendition, as it uses the plug-ins for the DMR from Imacon/Hassleblad, but the interface is very nasty, IMHO. Â Worth using for your really important stuff, though. Â If they could get Lightroom to use the DMR profiles, I'd be a very happy camper...
rsolomon Posted August 28, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted August 28, 2007 This is a tougher question then it appears......i wish there was easy to answer - it wouild make the dmr more enjoyable....
dfarkas Posted August 28, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted August 28, 2007 Are you using a Mac or PC? Â The Mac interface for C1 is a little backwards. The PC version is much quicker, more logical, and more user-friendly. Strange, but true. I've used them both. Â I just hope that the merging of platforms that is supposed to occur in v4 uses more of the PC interface and less of the Mac. Â David
bono0272 Posted August 29, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted August 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Capture One Pro 3.7.7 is very good. Only use Photoshop for post processing. If just for RAW conversion, use C1.
dhsimmonds Posted August 29, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted August 29, 2007 Definitely C1 for the DMR Dng images.
mgcd Posted August 29, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted August 29, 2007 Without a doubt C1 is THE best raw processor for DMR files bar none. I don't find its interface awkward although I'm on a Mac, but I've been using it for a few years now. I prefer to use C1 as opposed to Photoshop when doing WB. Â Cheers,
