LocalHero1953 Posted May 16, 2021 Share #21 Posted May 16, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I used an IR cut filter for a while on the M240, which had some beneficial effect. The situation I reported with the M9 in 2013 was in a cafe with little natural light and very bright tungsten or halogen lamps.

jaapv Posted May 16, 2021 Share #22 Posted May 16, 2021 In my experience the M240 was slightly worse than the M9, but still better than the M8. I sometimes had to convert my safari photographs to B&W because the colours were hopeless.

LocalHero1953 Posted May 16, 2021 Share #25 Posted May 16, 2021 There were a lot of IR cut filters on ebay at the time, as they had been sold for use with the M8, which had this problem - even worse, I believe.
boojum Posted May 17, 2021 Share #26 Posted May 17, 2021 Is the M240 fix with an IR filter the same filter as the M8/M8.2?

The other side is that B&W just cost me a fast $100 at B&H, and I had that money budgeted for black cigars, strong whiskey and wild women. Just part of the sacrifice we must make for our art, I guess. Ars gratia artis.
