The next item he is going to do is a test of two pounds of butter. Certainly funny to read. You have to make your living somehow.

Love him. You need to know how to use a lens. Not every photographer can do this. The pattern depends on the focusing distance Steve? A very nice guy to have a beer with... The photo is trash... but anyway - the oof area in the center is more blurred than at the side of the frame. The plane of focus is U shaped. Welcome, dear visitor! But I do not follow him and have not seen other articles. The reviews are mostly the same. Sharpness, vignette, angles. For laboratory photographers. I skip this and look at real photos. Not sure what your second image is supposed to show. same thing: the trees at the side of the frame are less unsharp than the trees in the middle of the frame. You have to double click the image. Yes, it is subtle in the second image, as the focus is not as close as in the first image. Steve Huff's pictures (as unstable this guy may be...) show the same effect. Capuccino-Muffin Posted May 15, 2021 Share #52 Posted May 15, 2021 Let’s not make what’s as old as being a new magical finding. curvature of field, and only curvature of field, is what is responsible for “threedeeness”. The more curvature of field, the more character. Been like this for 200 years now.

Hanno Posted May 15, 2021 Share #54 Posted May 15, 2021 (edited) The curvature of field is quite apparent in the MTF table… there shouldn’t be any surprise or dispute to it and its effect. https://uk.leica-camera.com/content/download/199413/5314704/version/20/file/EN_Noctilux_50_1.2.pdf It’s more present at closer focus distance and/or wider aperture.
