For my SL I went a complete different route.

I added the battery grip and attached and hand strap to it. Having the wider grip lets me relax my hand while carrying it like a bag.

It adds more weight especially with SL2 where I think the grip works only with both batteries but might be worth a try.

The most comfortable way to carry a heavy lens all day long is this one:

Works also as a double harness or in combination with a bag.

I have the Moneymaker version of this. Great for a dual camera setup at a wedding although you need to rock the *on the way to a bondage session* look. For a single camera I prefer a single sling strap though because it's easier to move around and swap shoulder throughout the day.

You can also go without grip and still use a hand strap from Peak Design Clutch. It comes with a little base plate to attach the bottom end of the strap to the camera. Alternatively, the Really Right Stuff baseplate for the SL2/SL2-S with or without the L-bracket also supports a hand strap attachment.
