dancook Posted May 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was looking forward to a black and red Lolumina mini, but it was ordered from America and this morning I got an email "We will need to cancel the order because UK’s new VAT law enaction." Does anyone have any recommendations a little closer to home? The whole point of me getting them, was that when I hipshoot sometimes I don't press the shutter all the way in properly - I thought perhaps a soft shutter button would help with this. I may switch to black soft release button to retain the more discreet B&W look. Dan wish I could be of help in terms of sourcing Lolumina in UK or EU but I purchased red and black versions some time ago from US site. Few words of caution to anyone ordering these soft buttons: Lolumina sells just the button or the button with the mount (complete kit). Make sure you order at least one complete kit (per camera) then you can purchase additional soft buttons to swap colors (if desired) "10mm Mini" is the correct size for Q, Q2 and Q2 M "13mm Regular" is correct size for SL2 and they make a silver button which perfectly matches the SL2 shutter release I got use to using soft releases on all my threaded cameras. Was very pleased to have found the Lolumina solution for Q2 and SL2. They work like a charm....possibly even better than "normal" male threaded versions (versus female threading in Lolumina). At least so far I haven't lost any. Hope this helps Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! NicholasT Posted May 23, 2021 Share #8 Posted May 23, 2021 Here are images of Lolumina Soft Release (13mm Regular) on SL-2 I have large hands and use back button focus. Without soft release I usually have to keep my index finger bent and release shutter with tip of finger which is not particularly comfortable in long day of shooting. With this setup I'm able to lightly "drape" my finger over the soft release and comfortably take shots. Most SL2 users will likely find this unnecessary, but I've found it to be helpful. jaapv Posted September 21, 2023 Share #15 Posted September 21, 2023 Wouldn’t a silicone self-adhesive bumper dot solve the problem of depressing the shutter? They are available in all sizes on eBay for next to nothing prices.
