Ibis on SL2 with adapted lenses for me has just been so much fun. Specifically the Canon 400mm 5.6 L USM + MC-21 combo that also takes 1.4&2x canon TCs. That lens didn't have IS and thus can be had for €7-900, Originally mostly used for bird in flight on sunny day shots now can enjoy IBIS. It's super sharp, weighs 'nothing' and produces great images handheld with SL2 due to IBIS. It complements the 90-280 perfectly for me.   Yes I had the 400 f5.6 in my Canon days and was very happy with it for sharpness and for BIF it had no peer given its weight.
