Has the weather sealing required the thumbwheel hard to turn?  For example, if shooting in full manual mode, and holding the camera to the eye, you may wish to adjust exposure or whatever is programmed by thumbing the wheel.  On my Q2 I cannot easily do so. Or is it time for a Leica repair technician?

i struggle with the wheel on mine as well. part of it is shooting left-eyed means that the right side of your face sometimes interferes with you being able to get to it. but i think the difficulty in turning it is by certain design. i have a panasonic s1 which i can't carry in a way where the exp-comp wheel doesn't turn when rubbing against some part of my body. drives me nuts to put the camera up to my eye and have -5 ev dialed in. :)

Janne - with more use, the thumb wheel on my Q2 has loosened somewhat and is now not an issue for me.  I did not send it off for repair but I did ask an experienced Leica Q user for her opinion which, as expected, was enjoy - it's a Leica.

Best,

I am struggling with a stiff thumb wheel on my Q3 - the the point of slight burning and redness on my thumb given how stiff - stiffer turning left than right, but neither is great - much less refined than my M11.

Can other Q3 owners comment on their experience? It makes exposure comp difficult, and you easily skip a step or two because of it.

Thanks

All I can say is that I do not have this issue with my Q3 after five months.

The camera has no issues at all.

Thanks - I have an SL3 and M11, and the SL is by far the smoothest/easiest to adjust. M11 a but stiffer than that, but still not difficult. The Q3 is far stiffer than the M11… I guess I will drop at Leica in New Jersey to look at this…

I have the same problem, after almost two years of intensive use it is still very stiff. Has anyone solved it? If so, should I take it to a service center or is there another solution? Thanks!

No problems here with my Q3 after more than a year of use. I suggest that those who have problems should take their camera to the local Leica store ASAP to have it evaluated and, if necessary, fixed before the wheel seizes up completely.
