Actually this talk of getting a T is making me go back to the TL2.  As the sensor of the CL is great and the TL2 has the same sensor, only the interface is different.  For TL2 owners, how many use it without an attached EVF or if using the EVF, what percentage use of using the LCD only?  This may be more intuitive for my wife and kids as they use only their iPhones as their camera and may even like the TL2 enough to take pictures of me for a change.

Hi, I've come over recently from Micro 4/3 Panasonics usually with Leica lenses to the TL2 and now have all three vario lenses and a fast 30mm Sigma.  I am very happy with the quality of the photos and rely mainly on the 18-56mm on the street.  I also have the Variflex finder but have seldom needed it so far.  Probably because I came from the Pany I went with the TL2 over the CL2 because of the USB charging and file transfers.  I also really like the menu system and fewer physical controls.  This shot is a crop from the original with the 18-56mm, I had to shoot quickly before the girls got shy...

Welcome Mike, I am not the most active on this forum but appreciate the experience and knowledge of the forum members. The TL2 so far has been a very welcome change to my prior Leica experience which has been great. I no longer use any other brand. I initially got started with film using the M3, M2, M7 and MP.  Then I went digital and still use the M9 series as well as the SL and M10 series cameras. With the advances, I appreciate each additional step in functionality. The 18-56 is very useful. Now I am expecting a 23 Summicron  prime and cannot wait.

I had a conversation with the manager of the Leica Store here in Las Vegas about the differences in image quality between the 18-56 and the 18 & 23 primes.  I have the 18-56 and was considering the 23mm.  I was told that in center sharpness they would essentially look the same and the only difference might be a slight difference in edge sharpness, but that it would take some pixel peeping to really see it.   The biggest advantage of the 23mm is that it's faster at f/2 and is more portable.   I've shot some low light images with the 18-56 at f/4 and even at ISO 4000 there really wasn't a ton of noise, or at least nothing that couldn't be corrected without loss of IQ.

In the end I went with a Sigma 16mm DG DN f/1.4 for my night shots in addition to the 18-56mm.  This covers the focal lengths I use most for my automotive work.  I may add the 55-135 at some point.  I don't use those focal lengths very much but it would be nice to have.
