Third item? Start by formatting the card in SDFormatter to make it empty. Then clear the downloads folder on your computer and make sure there are no previous downloads or file copies elsewhere on your computer like the desktop to avoid automatic renaming, and only then download the file to your SD card

Hi Chris, thanks for your help, no, I put the card back in the camera I go to update, it simply says: “no firmware on SD card found”. No error messages.

Ben, can you post a screenshot from your sd card where the file is visible?
What computer are you using?
That would be helpful to understand more.

Chris

The definitive answer to the firmware update for Monochrome Q2...countless friends are seeing "no firmware on card", etc.  The file downloaded as a "TXT" file is the coding of the firmware and means nothing to you and the camera.

Answer:  do the download via CHROME browser , yet another internal issue with using SAFARI browser.  It downloads as file with extension "FU" which you take the interpretation as you wish-ha.  Format an SD with the camera you are upgrading which is the first step. Put the New firmware at the root of the card file and good to go.

Happy shooting everyone.

Indeed, the firmware update file does not have that name.

The name of the firmware file for the Q2 is:   Q2__31_.lfu   and the size is about 118KB
