While M10-D is great, I believe the original Edition 60 and its common-law partner M-D are more pure.  There's no EVF, and no wifi.  It's true digital film.  I'll never let go of my Edition 60.

With the M-D I had sometimes the problems during shootings with unexperienced people that from time to time they wanted to see the photo to control their facial expression or their posture.

I wonder what did they do in the film era.:)

@NigelG I had a custom Luigi case made for it which is out of this world.  Nothing like a lugless camera to have a perfect case!

Is P17/24 a prototype?  There doesn't seem to be a number on the right side on the right one.

Also you must have the Steelilux to complete it.:)

FWIW it’s a slightly different “shade” of stainless steel - not sure if it’s a different lacquer or maybe no lacquer, I need to look more closely. No serial number on the hot shoe and no label on the baseplate...

I did speak to Luigi but I’m not a case fan (see iPhone cover thread). There’s a thread re using a Q2 grip on an M262 which I’m looking into.

Anyway - OT! - back to the M10-D.

My personal view is once you start relying on an app to control camera functions you’re into a whole world of problems. What happens when the iOS changes or what happens if the connection protocols change etc?.
I’ve lost count of the “this app doesn’t work/connect/do this/do that etc” threads - not for me...

For that, a much much better solution is the Pixii.  I was an early adopter and it works seamlessly.  They are updating the sensor and the hardware so hopefully it will be even more useful, but if you offload the electronic camera guts onto an app, you have to upload the bulk of it.  Ideally the camera is just a sensor and a communication system and all kinds of different processing happens on the iphone.

It works fine for me, but I agree with you, if you rely on an app with a rangefinder... it is just not great. The app is slow and a bit cumbersome. So fine for incidental use, but that's about it. :)

I really do like and appreciate this camera.......BUT, ( yes sorry there has to be one ), I've just spent 30 minutes trying to reformat the SD card in-camera via the Foto's App. It took four attempts to have the App actually connect with the camera so I could access Settings.....Four! With the camera sitting right next to the iPhone. Then in Settings it was impossible to format the card because that option is greyed out. WHY????

I tried this three times with turning the camera and iPhone off each time, no change.......it will not format the card. So I had to remove the card and format it in my M10-P instead via that camera's menu setting. WHY didn't Leica make it possible to format the card with a real camera setting, on camera instead of us having to rely on such a poorly thought out and poorly functioning 'phone App?

Really frustrating.
