Shadow Blaster Posted April 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can you shoot black & white pix with the M262? I've scoured the user manual and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Adam Bonn Posted April 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2021 yes you can set the camera JPEGs to bw and with the RAW edit it however you want it to look
marchyman Posted April 26, 2021 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2021 To expand on Adam's reply... the raw file will always contain the data captured by the image sensor which in the case of the M 262 is data filtered by a a color Bayer array. Your image processing software will likely see that as a color image. Some software may notice that you asked for B&W -- saturation set to B&W in the JPEG settings -- and convert the image to B&W for you. If you want B&W out of the camera you'll need to set the File format to JPEG or DNG+JPEG and use the jpeg files created by the camera.
a.noctilux Posted April 26, 2021 Share #4 Posted April 26, 2021 It seems that I didn't find in my french manual either. I never used the Monochrom jpeg from the M262, having the real thing as Monochrom (only ! ). Found how to do it, a bit tricky, not really logical: - in Menu - JPG Settings, Saturation then B&W (last line) , set - SET button - File Format , JPG fine or DNG + JPG Fine
kivis Posted May 3, 2021 Share #5 Posted May 3, 2021 I shoot RAW then PP with DXO Filmpack. Dozens of B/W profiles.
a.noctilux Posted May 3, 2021 Share #6 Posted May 3, 2021 For "learner" (as I was, it can be used as guide for better B&W). It WAS useful for me to see on LCD how the subject WOULD show in B&W. With M262 without liveview, only way to go after taking the pic. Or if B&W in later post PP can be planned.
