David Stick Posted April 17, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have purchased the Summicron 35mm F2 Aspherical (1999-chrome) with the standard rectangular hood. I first put the silver filter( uVe II)on the lens, no problem. But , when I tried to put that lens hood, I couldn’t attach it. So, do I put the lens hood on first, then screw the filter on after, or am I missing something. Any advice would be appreciated. Peace.

David Stick Posted April 18, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted April 18, 2021 Thanks for the input. I have a chrome Summicron 35mm f/2 with the rectangle style lens hood. Also have the Uve II filter. I can only get the filter on after the hood is attached, and not the filter first, then hood. Is that typical or abnormal?
Kwesi Posted April 19, 2021 Share #7 Posted April 19, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi David, Welcome to the forum. It sounds like the UVa II filter (13031)is too tall for the hood clamps to catch the lens groove. If so, your best bet is to try a B+W XS Pro filter. Or is it too wide so the hood doesn't fit over it? Before you do so though, I would suggest searching the threads here to see if others have encountered the same problem. We have had a similar sounding issue with 50/1.4 ASPH BC lens
