For me the 18-56 is almost indispensable, but I have the possibility of getting an 18mm. I have doubts about spending money and then not taking it out. Looks good on my silver TL2 (see photo). It also looks good on Cl (see photo). When you buy 18-56mm and buy 18mm, there is lighter weight and better harmony, but what other improvements will you get compared to 18-56? It makes the TL2 a genuinely pocketable camera. The general consensus is that it’s not the best lens in the lineup but that’s probably more to do with the quality of the other TL lenses than any shortcoming of the TL18. If you value the compact size and weight then nothing else will do. I don’t see any shortcomings here; (Heavily cropped SOOC JPEG wide open at f2.8 and ISO100) Welcome, dear visitor! When buying I told myself that I will sell later on the 18 mm ... I made several pictures of comparisons between the 18 and the zoom at the 18 mm focal length but without seeing any significant differences. The black background contrasts very well with the flower. Cutting in square mode for my taste wouldn't look bad either. The bokeh effect, despite not being a bright lens, has been good. A picture is worth a thousand words. Now there is a small price drop that I want to take advantage of. In auto mode, is the AF similar to 18-56 or faster or slower? In addition to the CL I have an M and a SL with many lenses but finally when I get out to walk around in the city with my wife it il almost always the CL with the 18mm tha goes with me...smal, light and discrete. I’m sure that you can make beautiful candid shots with your 18mm in Caceres streets that will be more difficult to do if you need pointing a zoom to people. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is very small, weighs little and makes TL2 beautiful and handy so it will stay in TL2 for the longest time. On prices as always differences from one place to another, strange thing in new articles, in the end looking and looking I got one for a little less than 1000 Euros, completely new in its Leica box and sealed. Dopaco Posted April 20, 2021 Author Share #12 Posted April 20, 2021 Hello partners: After spending days with this lens I can say that my TL2 works well and makes the camera tremendously light. I guess in CL it will be the same. Among the TL objectives it must be the cheapest, although it may not be the best, but yes, it is the most garter (18x1.5 = 27mm) in TL2 it happens that it is a 28mm which is what Leica Q carries, which I mean, it can mimic the Leica Camera. (Better and faster in AF with normal light source). The 18mm is brighter than the 18-56 that I also have (F2.8 / F3.5). A macro with Raynox 250. The M39 Lens (screw) Elmar 35 F3.5 that I have tested with M8 and with 80 years behind it has behaved well, I want to test it with TL2, said lens is small but in TL2 I like how it looks.
