geoffreyg Posted August 30, 2007 Share #42 Posted August 30, 2007 I had a similar problem with the DMR and concluded it was mypushing down with the shutter. As pointed out earlier, holding the camera with the left hand underneath gives a platform and steadies the camera. Then the shutter finger only triggers the shutter, and hopefully doesn't shift the camera. With the DMR the extra size made this a bit hard, and quick "line up the landscape" shots came out withthe tilt. There was nothing wrong with the camera, tho. Using the M8 is easier as it is lighter and smaller - but care is still needed. Slight out of alignment, either pointing up or letting it drift down on the right will lead to this situation. marknorton Posted September 4, 2007 Share #44 Posted September 4, 2007 Looks to me to be slightly out - if the yellow line is vertical, the camera is tilted slightly to the left. Use a ruler to measure the distance at the top and bottom from the yellow line to the frame edges and you'll see the top of the line is closer to the right-hand side at the top than at the bottom. It's about half a degree out - that may be within experimental "error", certainly better than the images you posted. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

And putting a grid on the overcontrasted pic, is clearer (sorry, don't know how to post a pic of the PS image WITH grid) But... ok camera leveled... is it REALLY vertical the tube ?... plumbers are not always artists..
