beewee Posted March 22, 2021 Share #21  Posted March 22, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Seeing more images, it makes me think it’s something to do with a sensor readout problem where some data is getting corrupted while the data is being read from the sensor. It could be something else on the board like a bad internal connector, or even potentially a bad memory card. It’d be worth testing with a different memory card to rule that out. If it’s not the memory card, it’ll likely need to go to Wetzlar.

jaapv Posted March 22, 2021 Share #23 Â Posted March 22, 2021 I see this sometimes on my X-Rays (without the distortion correction, obviously). It is a buffer-memory problem when writing the file. I fear that it is a job for Wetzlar, but send them a few files to evaluate first.

I have see this problems with Lexar cards. Changed card and it went away. I would do more testing before sending it in. From the USA it is best to send to NJ. they will take care of all the costly shipment and import export paper. My understanding is that they don't do any repair of SL cameras and lenses anywhere else then Germany. You should aspect a 3 month turnaround time

Eclectic Man Posted March 23, 2021 Share #27 Â Posted March 23, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have you tried changing the card slot and checking the contacts on the card are nice and clean? You could also see what happens if you store the images to both cards at the same time. Â That might help determine whether it is a card problem or a camera problem. Mpi Posted March 23, 2021 Share #28  Posted March 23, 2021 I had a similar problem (only with two files). I happened to write to both sd cards (both of them raw) and the file on the other card was fine.  this let’s me believe it’s a problem with the card. Can you try to shoot raw to both cards and check whether you see this line on both copies?
kkochheiser Posted March 24, 2021 Share #29 Â Posted March 24, 2021 I had a very similar problem when my SL2 was brand new and it was a brand new SanDisk card. Â Swapped for another identical new card and the problem disappeared and has never returned. Â I heaved a huge sigh of relief! Â I wish you the same easy fix. AKorenc Posted March 29, 2021 Share #30 Â Posted March 29, 2021 This is a data write problem, it happens when the processor if "offloading" the data to the memory card. Whether it's a processor, or a card problem, is difficult to say, but in 95% of cases the cause for this error is the card. I believe the problem will dissapear with replacing the memory card.
