Advertisement Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Hi dkmoore, Take a look here B in B&W 2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
benqui Posted March 21, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2021 I really like it as it is with the focus on her beautiful eyes. Maybe another possibility is a closer view with less headroom and also a crop of the lower part of the photo to emphasize her eyes. But your version is also very good. 3

I'll play around with it in LR to see what it looks like with the proposed crops. I've definitely been experimenting with cropping lately as I used to be dead set against it (not sure why!). stuny Posted March 22, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 22, 2021 Very nice, and I find her mouth very interesting, too. I agree with Marc's comment.

I've definitely been experimenting with cropping lately as I used to be dead set against it (not sure why!). Keep in mind that any photograph is inherently a crop. First, you crop in your mind in deciding where to point your camera, then in deciding what lens to use, how close to stand to your subject, and so on. I think a photo should only include what you as the artist want it to include. There's nothing magical about the 24x36mm format. I'm glad you're breaking out of that mold.
StS Posted March 28, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 28, 2021 Focal and tonal controle are excellent, a lovely portrait. I also like the pattern in the background echoing the curls of her hair. Stefan 1
