I've been watching Tamarkin, too.  Not to buy, just to monitor prices.  It seems every unmetered film M is listed for about $1,800.  M6's listed close to $3,000, which is getting close to user-grade M-A's.

Just noticed a 'user' black repainted M2 on 35mmc.com web shop - asking price £2000!!!!!

I love the description 'with signs of love to the exterior'

That's right.  A local dealer is selling a near mint, black chrome M-A with the complete kit for $3995.  Despite the lack of a built-in meter (which I actually prefer), I would go for a near-new M-A over an M6 any day.  If I didn't already have an M-A I'd be seriously tempted.

Just looked at it, it appears to have been painted over the silver finish and the paint is coming off to show silver not brass. It's also in dirty condition for what they are asking.
