In the last year I’ve ditched my TL2 despite loving it’s form and functionally as unfortunately I really need an eye piece and kept my CL.
Reviewing my situation I decided to go with a Q2 as a ‘street camera’ and use my CL for ‘everything else’.

Q2 is fabulous but I’ve ended up with a Sigma 30mm, a Panasonic 20-60 and soon to be added 70-300 having possibly/rashly sold my collection of TL lenses(full set apart from 60mm)

I’ve  a few ‘legacy’ m mounts but wonder if I should  look at the lmount competition now I’ve  ‘deserted’ the TL( fabulous lenses but massively overpriced tbh)

I would say you are not a traitor unless you decided to support Cardiff

CL is superb, I use mine with a few Sigma classics (45, 16, 100-400) and a bunch of Voigtlander M lenses (21, 35, 50, 75)

Greed makes me desire the 11-23 but I'm good to roll as I am.

LOL...this is all about having fun. Last couple of days I’ve left all the digital stuff at home, shooting a couple of rolls of Portra 160 with my M4 and I’m busy building a second film setup, a Nikon F2AS, completely restored by F2 super-tech Sover Wong.

Always a ‘jack’

I really love the CL

The 11-23 is probably the only TL I actually regret letting go and can imagine repurchase at some point, though I’m not really someone who needs to go wider than the Q2 very often

I'm very interested in a Q2 but have 3 concerns;

a. it's pretty chunky for a 28mm FOV (compared to my TL2 with 18mm)

b. The file sizes are HUGE

c.And £4000+ for a point and shoot!?

Regarding the 11-23. I had one of those then bought the 18mm and never used the zoom again. Sold it for more than it cost!

I have waaay too much gear right now...but landed on a solution close to yours.  Picked up the CL, a trifecta of Sigma lenses (16,30,56) along with a few M mount lenses and now a Q2.  I also have a TL2 and x100v (probably going to sell at least one of them)...and recently acquired my first M mount (on its way).  Too much gear....

The thing holding me back from selling the TL2 is that the JPEGs are insanely good (especially b&w).  Did you find that?  By contrast, the JPEGs from my CL are a no-go and I just shoot  strictly DNG.  Just getting to know the Q2 and it is a monster of a camera.  It's kind of addictive, despite the massive files.

They are big, so I sometimes decide it’s a ‘jpeg day’ and am perfectly happy with the results.

If I “bottle’’ as it were I can easily switch back to DNG even if it’s only for a couple of shots.

I don’t have a TL2 but I’ve always absolutely loved the HC B&W jpegs from my CL. They have a pop and clarity I struggle to replicate with the RAW file.

If you find the files of higher resolution cameras too big, I would suggest dividing your plaything money a bit more wisely by diverting  a part of it to upgrading the computer part of your hobby.
Basically you should not even notice the size.

40+ megabyte CL raw files do start adding up after 500-1,000 images. I just replaced my 2 TB external drive after 5 years of loading micro four-thirds and M262 raw files to a new 8 TB drive.

Remembering what my first 1GB CF card cost, well before memory card prices plummeted, seemingly overnight, an 8 TB drive for under $200 is just incredibly inexpensive.

Thanks...admittedly, after seeing the color JPEGS from the CL, I didn't give too much attention to the HC B&W jpegs from the cl.  I will go back and play with that b/c that is really the best strength of the TL2 (though the color jpegs are nice too).
