Hi everyone! I’m jumping into the SL system and it feels so right. I’m coming from a Fuji GFX system my question is whether to buy a new kit or used.

New: SL2 with 24-90 - $9500

used mint: $8200

what would you al do? Are the SL2’s problematic? Any worries here? I typically buy all my gear used and have never had issue... thx!

I get used most of the time, no problems so far. However, the price difference of approx 14% you have quoted b/w new and used doesn't seem like a great deal to me. Unless it is from a dealer with full warranty.

No issues with multiple Sl2s (all bought used) I have owned in past 2 years.

New US retail for SL2 and SL 24-90 is $11,500, so $9500 is already a deal.  New or used, for me it comes down to dealer I can trust and warranty provisions.

Thanks everyone! I ended up picking up the sl2, Leica 24-90 lens, 4 factory batteries, Leica remote trigger, and RRS L-bracket for $9000.

the SL2 has 800 shots, and is pristine. The lense is basically brand new.

I think I made out pretty good!

Thanks everyone! As I might have mentioned, I’m coming from the GFX line offered by Fujifilm. It has served me well for quite a few years, but the limited lens offering was a huge issue for me. Having access to m lenses, along with other 3rd part glass is a huge benefit.

I’m also excited to be shooting Leica again as one of my first cameras was an M3 that I still miss every day. Thanks for validating my purchase everyone! :)

You really think any of us on the LUF wouldn't support a decision to move to Leica ? :)

True, but perhaps some have switched from GFX to Leica... glad to be a part of such a win community!

Welcome to the community and I hope you enjoy your SL2!  I sold out of the GFX 50R and quite a few of the lenses to get into the SL2.  It complements the Ms I already shoot, so it was an easy transition.
