Photos By Cowz Posted March 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know M10P is probably not the best macro platform, but I have thrown together some info (I hope it is correct) to assist with lens selection. I have a Nisi 58mm close up filter which has a diopter factor of 5x and I have ordered the Macro M Adaptor (waiting, waiting, waiting). Leica Elpro is 7x diopter btw. So I thought I would save a lot of experimentation and factor in some macro equations for some glass I have. If I gave any figures wrong, please let me know. Maybe later I will play with the R macro glass. 50mm f2 summicron, 0.7m close focus Native reproduction ratio 1:11.5 With NISI alone 1:1.03 With macro adapter at 18mm 1:2.3 With macro adapter at 30mm 1:1.5 Both at 18mm 1:1.25 Both at 30mm 1:1.91 75mm f2.5 summarit, 0.7m close focus Native reproduction ratio 1:7.2 With NISI alone 1:1.75 With macro adapter at 18mm 1:2.6 With macro adapter at 30mm 1:1.9 Both at 18mm 1:1.11 Both at 30mm 1:0.89 90mm f2 summicron, 0.9m close focus Native reproduction ratio 1:9 With NISI alone 1:1.67 With macro adapter at 18mm 1:3.2 With macro adapter at 30mm 1:2.3 Both at 18mm 1:1.11 Both at 30mm 1:0.92 135mm f2.8 elmarit, 1.5m close focus Native reproduction ratio 1:9 With NISI alone 1:1.23 With macro adapter at 18mm 1:4.1 With macro adapter at 30mm 1:3.0 Both at 18mm 1:0.93 Both at 30mm 1:1.23 What does this mean? Best macro rig is the 75mm at 30mm with Nisi for 1:0.89 which is higher magnification than 1:1 which is a macro lens standard. 90mm and 135mm are close behind. It is a huge advantage the 75 summarit is sharp as a tack. I hope to share some examples from the rig with my M10P.

a.noctilux Posted March 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2021 Comment only on the 2.5/75mm. For me also, good surprise with this cheap 75mm, I used the Summarit-M 2.5/75mm for close-up and using some Elpro/OUFRO/etc. Out of curiosity, I try the 2.5/75 for slide "M-scanning", it's very good at 1:1 nothing I can complain comparing to other Focotar or macro SLR lenses. In 3D world, plants or pics with some high light spots, some colored aberrations when I compare with the trusty Apo-Summicron-M 75mm. But with Monochrom, this 2.5/75 is at top (even when I use colored filters no shift focus to talk about).
tobey bilek Posted March 14, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 14, 2021 I use visoflex 1, 2, & 3 from 1980 with 65.90.135 lenses. Also have 69 and 100 APO R lenses. All work fine for me. People who buy & sell never get a complete set.
Narsuitus Posted March 14, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) With a FotoDiox Nikon F to Leica M lens mount adapter, I can easily mount the following Nikon equipment on my M10 to obtain reproduction ratios much higher than 1:1 1. 55mm f/3.5 Nikkor macro lens 2. 105mm f/2.8 Nikkor macro lens 3. Nikon PB4 bellows 4. Nikon extension tubes Edited March 14, 2021 by Narsuitus
Stef63 Posted March 14, 2021 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2021 Not a direct answer to your question, but I do (did) use the M10 for macro. My main lens for this purpose is (was) the outstanding Apo Elmarit R 2.8 100 mm Macro. This lens goes natively down to 1:2 at 45 cm and 1:1 with the Elpro at 30 cm mounted on the front. Focusing with the Visoflex on the M10 (or on my M10M) is workable, but not more than that. I switched to the SL2 with the same R-lens and this made a whole difference. I’m planning to add an external monitor mounted on top of the SL2 for more critical focusing. Good luck. Macro is fun and rewarding!
Ktsa5239 Posted March 15, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 15, 2021 I use the macro adaptor frequently with either the 90mm APO summicron or the 50mm APO summicron. I use the visoflex in both cases and it gives me very nice results.
