Henry Taylor Posted March 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Missed not having the Planes of Fame Air Show in Chino last year and going through several of my pictures I realized why I fell in love with the 350mm Try to find one today you won't find one under $1500 and for good reason, It was a real sleeper when I paid $200 7 years ago. Blows away compertition . I tried may other lenses when shooting air shows and since you are shoot at infinity who needs auto focus. Welcome, dear visitor! Henry Taylor Posted March 12, 2021 Author Share #7 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Ray I used a Nikon D600 and probably shot at 2000 sec. The Lens of course my favorite Leica R 350mm 4,8. I should had shot instead at 350 sec to catch movement of the blades. Actually theses were all models shot in my studio just kidding. Also Stuart the reason why these plans are flying in the same direction and height is that they come in from the left fly over and bank to the right. This is what give you the impression that I'm up there with them.

Auto focus can sometime be a hindrance. It's not that I'm against auto focus, there are many times you need it, but for me, zone focusing works and much faster. I don't like the fact that the auto focusing will ofter pick up the wrong focusing point.
