Quick question about which adapter I should buy for the M-mount lenses. I understand the genuine Leica adapter has some benefits with the Leica's own M-lenses, but does it makes any sense if I use something non-Leica like 7Artisans or TT-Artisan ?

Leica adapter allows you to use lens corrections in camera with 6bit lenses. Vignetting, Distortion, Color rendition and activate sensor stabilization.

Other adapter allow you to use the lens with their native character . With manual selection of focal length in menu you can still activate IBIS.
Coil adapter allows you to overcome the minimum distance and focus closer. This need to be a conservative  use since lenses are probably not corrected for that distance and underperform.

novoflex is a decent adapter, in my experience, you can activate correction if you wish but can also apply later in capture one picking the right lens. and about ibis, it is cool but I suspect eat the battery so unless you need is better off. for me this means not using lens code and select it when I need ibis (which is seldom for me as we are in lockdown!!!!). G>

That limits you to shoot on a tripod or above 1/250s with a normal lens, anything below you get camera shake. Capture one is missing many lens profiles, not sure you like to adjust it all by hand.

Look, it all depends on what you are taking pictures of... if it is street then shake is not really an issue as you would likely try 1/1000th of a second with a 28mm and use f16 and high iso if cloudy. and if really dark then you could use flash to get sharp image plus trails with low shutter speed (at night usually). so no need to stabilise anything... if you are looking at landscape then you may have a tripod, if you have the urge of a shot but it is dark there is the iso too which is INCREDIBLE at 6400...

BUT

Admittedly I seldom use lenses beyond 50mm... and of course for tele is a little different

plus leica lenses and M lenses are usually very good, with little or no distortion, etc. vignette I do not mind.

About Capture One, all leica lenses that I have are there, and no leica lenses do not have a code anyway...

it is quite simple to do, it saves 200 pounds not having the original adapter, if you can afford the time wasted...

if you have the bucks go for original for sure

this is taking it away of the original question. IBIS has been added to cameras because high megapixel are very sensitive to motion and shutter shock.

If it is there why not use it? You don't have to limit yourself and use the exposure decisions to creative choices and not limitations.
I use both adapters and utilizing their benefits .

I have been using Capture One for many years and I am a big fan. The Lens selection is limited on Leica Lenses, and totally missing and M Voightlender lenses and Zeiss,

Might be time to lay off the caffeine... :) I can hand hold well below 1/f with good technique shooting over 50MP.
