I have just acquired an M8 having used Nikon dslr cameras the past few years. I have always used the Nikon View and Nikon Capture programmes to view and edit my photos.

I always shoot raw. Is there a programme in which I can preview raw images full screen size in a slide show format. I can't locate this in Capture One LE.

I also have Photoshop Elements 5.0 but I'm not familiar with the progamme.

I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

I use Breezebrowser Pro and recommend it.

Me too! I've using it for years Breezebrowser Pro and Breeze Bownloader Pro.

By the way, Breeze Downloader Pro is the best program I've seen for downloading and classify pictures. Ahhhh... they only work on Windows

You can also use Bridge which comes with PS if you just want to view your raw DNG files in a contact sheet look than you can double click and bring into ACR. i use Bridage to actually rename my raw files sometimes. now C1 has basically the same setup too plus a few other programs . This all depends on what you want to do also just see them or actually process from them.

Photo Mechanic is very good. Photojournalists use it almost exxclusively. It is very quick and stable. The newest version will preview The Raw image from the M8. Try the demo at: http://www.camerabits.com Regards. DR

Hello Harold

PM is the way to go! If you are using PS/ CS3 and you have your M8 set to DNG+JPG,

you can read in the SD card into your computer (MAC or PC) you will wind up with one image with DNG+JPG on the bottom. Next "select all" (CTLA or APPLE A) and use the CTL+J key or APPLE+J key and the two images will seperate (DNG & JPG).

you can than do a quick edit on the JPG's and backarrow when you want to select the DNG RAW image (I figure that you want to process the raw image in photoshop)

After processing the RAW image you can than save the new JPG for want ever use you need (printing, transmitting of viewing)

All not that hard and the results are great!

Good Luck with your M8

Related question: assume I capture in raw, process through Capture One into JPG files and then wish to give several photos on a CD to friends to view. What program can I also load on that same CD that would cause the photos to flow in a slideshow for the veiwer? (Assume a Windows environment all around.)

Thanks!

G,

Lightroom can create a self-starting pdf slideshow, which can also compress the images if you're short on space and can tolerate a limited loss of quality. If you have Acrobat writer you can also change the security settings to prevent unauthorised copying of the images using Acrobat's image selection tool.

Obviously for a faster workflow you could process your images in Lightroom as well.

Pete.

Thanks for the response, Pete. Alas, I don't have Lightroom nor am likely to buy it due to budget and having all I can handle just to coping Photoshop.

Someone on another forum suggested Google's Picasa2. Any experience with this?

I use Breezebrowser Pro and recommend it.

I've always been a big fan of Breezebrowser and Downloader Pro.

Do you think we'll ever seen DNG conversion capability included in Breezebrowser Pro?

I always miss Breezebrowser ever time I sit and wait for Capture One to load.
