Jonathan Levin Posted January 28, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2021 I thought i read that the flash should work but in Manual mode. TTL exposure not applicable. I'd like to know this to since I have been think about this set up as well. Manual mode is fine with me though.

Anakronox Posted January 31, 2021 Share #8 Posted January 31, 2021 Change your exposure preview mode from P-A-S-M to P-A-S to get rid of the screen flicker when using flash.

bherman01545 Posted February 1, 2021 Share #10 Posted February 1, 2021 As with any non-dedicated flash, you're only working off of the center contact on the flash and camera's hotshoe. You would set the camera to manual, set the Shutter Speed to the correct Flash Synchronization Speed (in your case, it's 1/250 sec or less) and either turn the flash to Manual (which means that each corresponding distance requires a different F/Stop) OR, Set the correct ISO on the flash and then put the flash on Auto or "A", (but not TTL) In this scenario, when the flash is set to 'Auto' there are usually 1-4 Auto Ranges, wherein each Auto Range requires a specific F/Stop, and that F/Stop is good for the entire distance range - the circuitry in the flash (a-la the flash's sensor and NOT the camera sensor) quenches the circuit and tells the flash when to cut-off. You'll need to test it, but I know that my simple Metz flash works great with three auto ranges as well as full manual control on the SL, SL2 and SL2-S Make sense? -Brad
