Hello:
I want to get a telephoto lens for my TL2, if possible with stabilizer, it does not have to be Leica, it can be from another brand, as long as it is compatible, because of its high price, it is likely that I will buy it on the second hand market .. Do you know where to buy?
Which one would you recommend? ...

Look for any of the "L Mount" lenses from Leica, Sigma or Panasonic.

There is a classified ad section on this forum. Fred Miranda Buy/Sell, eBay, GetDPI buy/sell, MPB.com are all other options for buying pre-owned.

Panasonic and SIgma are good lower cost telephoto options to Leica.  Sigma has a 100-400 DG/DN option for a retail price of under $1000 USD. It is a slower lens, and as long as you are within 20 feet or so of your subject and in good light, it is a very good option.

Panasonic and Sigma both have 70-200 options with either f2.8 or f4 options.  Sigma is generally less expensive than Panasonic. Both offer 1.4x and 2x options to add.

Good luck.

What focal length? I am happy with the Sigma 100-400 @ about 1000 Euro. If you have the L-M adapter, any manual lens is fine as you can use a cheap(ish) third-party adapter M-[anything]

@jaapv:

That distance could be good between 100 and 400mm.
I have been looking at and they speak well of said telephoto lens, the main defect that I have seen most is that at long distances the photos show a slight vignetting in the corners, if it is not excessive it does not have to be important.

Have you tried Sigma TC-1411 and TC-2011 teleconverters that increase the maximum distance x 1.4 and x 2, which is 560mm with the first and 800mm. with the second. ..

These converters are not cheap but if there is no loss of quality in the images it does not seem a bad option.

I've seen this Sigma 100-400 Telephoto Lens advertised on Amazon for the following prices: If it's for Canon € 759 and if it's for Nikon € 753, seeing this I have doubts. It means that before buying said telephoto lens I have to say what type of camera I am going to use it for, in this case my Leica TL2.
Does it mean that it is so?
Forgive my ignorance but I have not bought anything for Leica that is not from Leica.

You need to buy the version with the L mount. Made specifically for Leica and L mount members.  It should work seamlessly with your TL2 (except the lens focus lock button which does not matter.) Your camera needs the latest firmware. I don’t see the need for extenders on the CL 600 mm equivalent is plenty for me.

This is the link:

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B06XRJ49VL/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL&psc=1

About Leica TL2 compatibility, it says this: (We are not sure if this product will fit the model
LEICA TL2 Why not?)

None of the options on the Amazon Sigma store are available for L-Mount. I accidentally ordered the Sigma mount version of a lens and then realised that even though Sigma is part of the L-Mount alliance, there is also a legacy Sigma mount too. I was able to cancel before the order was processed.

So you need to ensure that the advert specifically mentions L-Mount for any one of Sigma, Panasonic or Leica cameras. Like This one or this one

Good luck with your search

Thanks for the information and the links.
I'm looking for there is no rush.
It does not have to be exclusively a 100-400 mm, another distance could be interesting but not exceed 1000 Euros.

It can be confusing if you’ve never stepped outside the warm embrace of Leica! Especially as there are two series of the 100-400. One for reflex and one for mirrorless bodies. Understanding the sigma product codes takes a bit of research. DG DN doesn’t exactly scream ‘full frame mirrorless’ at you, does it? And then there’s the differing mount standards, none of which says ‘Leica’. Again, you have to know that L-mount is what you’re after...

The product on your Amazon link seems to be only available in NL and it’s not being sold by the Sigma Store so I suspect it’s a Dutch reseller. It won’t show up if you’re on Amazon.es or Amazon.de.

Well, most online camera stores will come up with the right lens if you search for "Leica 100-400 Sigma" I bought mine with Cameranu, and there was no confusion at all. I only shop for Kindle books with Amazon, somehow other stuff does not work for me from that site.

I must confess that I never heard of "Sigma Stores" before this thread. Even now, I did not enter one.

Hola,

Thanks for the information and the links.

I don't know how Spain's trade with the United States is now, before I bought without problems but since Trump began with the issue of tariffs, things have become more difficult

There's only one way to find out, purchase one ;) But seriously, it can't be that bad.

Suggestion...instead of "a greeting" say "Regards" or "Greetings" ...same thing but much better grammatically ;)

I swapped cameras for an afternoon a few weeks ago with a friend, using his TL2 while he shot my CL. The TL2 was equipped with the EVF and I very much enjoyed using both my 60mm f2.8 macro and the 55-135mm f3.5-4.5 TL lenses.

No stabilization for sure. I just kept the ISO’s up enough to maintain shutter speeds necessary to avoid any camera shake issues. If I happen to pick up a T/TL/TL2 that’ll be my long-lens solution.

Hello friends:
I keep looking and seeing the results of the sigma 100-400mm. and comparing Weight, price / quality does not convince me at all.

Besides the TL2, I have other cameras like the Leica V-lux114 which is 25-400mm, F2.8 -f4, very light with a 1-inch sensor and built-in stabilizer.

For the moment I will continue to see and observe what is in the market and what can be launched. If it comes to taking safari or bird photos, I will use my V-lux 114, which I hope to get moderately decent photos with.

A few days ago I went to the bank of a river, without tripods and took some freehand photos that I present:

This is the Leica V-lux 114, photo obtained with iPhone 6:
