I'm a bit surprised nobody has decided to go for the MATE 28/35/50 in 1 lens.

I used one with my first M9M it was really good to have 3 prime quality lenses, albeit f4.0, rolled into 1. But, of cause, that is cheating so if I were forced to have a single lens on a single M body it would have to be a 35mm, I'd go for the 35 Summicron ASPH, small powerful bit of kit.

I think in all honesty I'm not a single lens guy at all, I really enjoy the Voigt 50mm f1.2 as well as using the crazy 10mm on my M9M so I'm afraid for the time being I'm lumbered with a bag of glass and 2 bodies, M9M & M9.

For me, the real benefit of the M10-R is the ability to "zoom" by cropping while still maintaining good resolution. This is similar as to how the Q2 works.

For normal shooting, there is no difference as compared to the M10, which I still own. Obviously, the M10-R DNG files are larger, but with super fast hard drives, this is not an issue. 

For normal shooting with nominal cropping required, the increased resolution is great. I have made 16" x 20" prints of M10-R images on my Epson P900 printer. The increased resolution really shines when printing. Love it!

I heard that Leica announced the discontinuance of the M10. It's obvious to me that there is no reason to buy an M10 when the M10-R cost the same.

Awesome. I just created a thread about ONE f/stop... Three minutes before to read this... 

Hilariously, I choose f/4 ... Your sweet spot is f/1.4.

On demand, (as you wrote) I ask you please to write your reasons why f/1.4 in the thread above. That would be awesome.

It's more complicated than that... I'm not saying I'm always shooting with one f/stop... Just for this month. I'm mastering still better the manual focus, and my hit rate always increases. Shooting at f/4 for a month, it's fantastic. One less setting to choose from, faster, enough DOP for everything. And after one month of shooting daily at f/4, I can assure you I will understand much better the near and far focus and almost remember distances.

For me, this is practice, is a challenge. And because of my way of shooting, I want to be faster on my MF.
Does it make sense?

Yes, I'm trying to mastering MF, guessing distances, calculate DOP etc... After a while it works more fluent in my mind.

Correct. But I saw a 3d-pop at f/4 at 0.7/1mt distance... very nice

if it were a 50mm then I would chose the lux but at 35mm the DOF from f2.0 to f1.4 is not so much IMHO but I like the size of the cron 35 asph and I also like the render for a wide lens.

Depends also what 35 lux you are talking about, there are a few, some tiny, some not.

My current 'go to lens' is the Voigtlander 50mm f1.2

I’ve just started using my lux 50 v4, too early to say if this is going to be the one lens. I bought it after looking at photos posted on line taken with this lens. Of course, it’s the classic mistake, assuming the lens maketh the photo, that the frying pan maketh the pancake, when we know that a great photo is made by the person behind the camera - but what else can we do?
