paul.bridges.3388 Posted December 19, 2020 Share #1  Posted December 19, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for all the help on my other thread. My SL2S is sitting under the tree and it needs a lens. I've narrowed to the two SL lenses, figuring AF will make the most of the camera. Question: does the lower resolution of the SL2S sensor favour either one of these SL lenses? Or, indeed, nullify the benefits of the faster Lux lens? My priority is micro-contrast 3D Leica-look character in lower light situations. Could the Lux be optimised for a high res sensor? Is it thus "wasted" on the SL2-S? Maybe I'm overthinking this... 🙂
Advertisement Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Hi paul.bridges.3388, Take a look here SL Lux vs Cron on SL2S. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Dr. G Posted December 19, 2020 Share #2  Posted December 19, 2020 I can’t answer that.  I’ve had the 50 Lux and now the 50 APO cron.  I keep second guessing myself and was in the Leica SoHo store this morning picking up my SL2S (I have the SL2 as well).  I inquired about switching 50s and both sales associates (who could have easily sold me another lens) told me to keep the 50 APO cron.
Chaemono Posted December 19, 2020 Share #3 Â Posted December 19, 2020 The SL2-S harmonizes particularly well with the 50 Summilux-SL at 44:25 here:Â Â
