How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

Love the greens in this and the selective focus. The tracks are pretty shiny which means they do not get time to go rusty and point to a well used track.

Thank you very much for the comment SC. When I started stepping up the Night Train shoots with my good friend, I could see the potential of these images. My friend was not so convinced and others thought we were crazy. We continued to set out early into the dark of the morning to shoot, moving trains. After a concentrated effort over a few weeks I have got quite a few images but there is still much more to do, including rural locations combining astro skies and freeways with trains in the centre. I have pretty serious health issues but that doesn't stop me, albeit slows me down a bit. We should get some more shots in this week and with the new SL3 the quality will step up a few notches. 😃I have also prepared images for my next print batch going to the lab this week. They come up absolutely fantastic, I must say.

We had a brief window to enjoy the auroral fireworks Friday night before clouds rolled in. Took a couple of exposures in our urban Buffalo backyard with SL2-S + Sigma 14-24… manual focus 8 second exposure. Would have liked more time but was happy to come away with a souvenir of this remarkable display.
