Tibetan macaque on sacred Mount Emei, Sichuan China.

There are approximately 300 of these apes living in the preserve surrounding the temples of Mount Emei.  Although pretty cute, these apes will "mug" visitors, stealing bags, purses, eyeglasses, etc. if you let your guard down.

Nice photo.

I'm thinking to pull the trigger and purchase my first used Lumix lens. Currently torn between 20-60 and 14-28 zooms. I plan to use it mostly for wild angle landscape work. For other stuff there is my beloved Leica 24-90. Can you give us any feedback regarding 20-60 wide angle quality?

Hello,

These images were both taken with the SL2-S and the 24-90mm in Pamplona, Spain. I am thrilled with the camera's low-light ability, and the lens is the best zoom I have ever owned. Below, I have linked the SL2-S gallery on my Leica Travel Blog page for further examples of this camera. I hope you enjoy it. This camera also captured several of my recent blog posts from various locations. You can easily navigate there if you are interested. It is best viewed on a computer screen or iPad.

I've been very happy with the S-R 20-60mm Lumix lens.  There is distortion at 20mm but that is true of virtually any 20mm and it is easily corrected in Capture One.  The lens itself is very lightweight making it perfect for travel.  I also own the Leica 24-90 but usually only carry it when I'm shooting near a car as it makes the SL2-s nearly the same weight as my S(006).  (It take VERY close inspection at 100% zoom on my computer to detect any difference between images shot on the 24-90 vs. the 20-60 at the same focal length.) On my trip to China I took the SL2-s with Lumix 20-60 and M10 with 28, 50, 90 and 135mm with M to L adapter. I was planning on using the 135 tele-Elmar on the SL2-s with the adapter but during the entire week I shot exclusively with the SL2-s and Lumix 20-60.

Up before dawn to photograph the Seattle Marathon as it passed by my place. Temperature hovering just above 0C/32F, and yes, our streets really are in crap shape.
