Dark banding on sky shots taken with a leica M7

I'm really hoping someone can help with a problem I have with an M7.  I've had the camera for a couple of years now and haven't experienced any issues to date apart from occasional film speed reader issues (I now always set ISO manually).  However on my last roll of film (Tri-x) I took some grab shots with the camera pointed upwards to the sky.  The cameras was on auto and likely set at f8.  I would imagine the 1000th shutter speed would have been exceeded.  I've attached a flat scan of one of the negatives.  On the extreme right and left and side there are vertical dark bands and I can't figure out why.  There is a similar problem on the two other sky shots taken on the same roll.  All other frames seem fine.  There is another lighter band a little way in from the left but that is a known issue with my scanner due to a problem with stepper motor I believe.

Looks like a shutter problem to me - send it in for a CLA.

Agree with jaapv.  I have an M3 that did the same thing only I had light banding instead of dark.  Happened with fast shutter speeds.  CLA took care of it.

Thanks for sharing your experience of the M3, I'll have to get this shipped off for a CLA, I'm going to miss it though!

If you will send it, I highly recommend photo of the entire negative as description of the problem. Including sprockets.  Not its cropped implementation via scanner.
