leicameter Posted December 9, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I own a Leica M4-P since 1989. I bought the camera from a Leica employee. Some time ago I realiced, that all(?) M4-P have two contact bushs, except mine. I think my camera is a late M4-P. Does anyone have any information on changes in contact bush? Welcome, dear visitor! a.noctilux Posted December 9, 2020 Share #4 Posted December 9, 2020 Thanks, first time I see M4-P with strap rubbing protections. If I recall well, even first batch of M6 didn't have those.
pippy Posted December 9, 2020 Share #5 Posted December 9, 2020 Very nice camera! Here's another with similar features; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-Unused-Yr-1989-Leica-M4-P-ELW-Black-35mm-Rangefinder-Camera-From-JAPAN/164564733694?hash=item2650d28efe:g:5e4AAOSwEOhfzmbg The camera in the link states 1989 but the ser.# dates from '86 and from a batch of 1,000 - of which, according to this link, 270 were actually M6 bodies; https://www.cameraquest.com/leicanum.htm Philip. 250swb Posted December 9, 2020 Share #6 Posted December 9, 2020 I have one from the last batch of 1000. It has flush windows, strap rubbing protectors, and a single sync socket and despite it saying 'Made in Canada' it was actually assembled at Wetzlar. https://cameraquest.com/m4pm6.htm
