Pity (if it's true), definitely one of my most used lenses...

It is a beautiful lens, but i found the pictures taken with it just dull, blurred and soft.
Of course it's a matter of taste. But for 5500€ i would expect some more "magic" like a nocti or so delivers…

You are either joking or really don't understand what this lens is about. View Milan's excellent imagery from link in post before yours. Also try and watch his video linked earlier..

Indeed, overdosed fogginess can appear like shooting through a frozeen fay´s furgle. "Hold still, or else I Thambar you! Pipsqueak!" said the photographer while looking in the mirror. On the other hand, this lens has no match when one chooses the f-stop right.

Meister Camera lists the Thambar to be discontinued in the near future.

They notice a total production output of only 1200 pieces, so the M-version will obviously be much rarer than its ancestor, the screw mount model with 3000 pieces.

The M hoarders must be in a feeding frenzy about now...

They say it's "run out"... in the context of a "lasting of stock "

The other day I saw a ‘webinar’ issued by a local Leica store here with Milan Swolfs presenting burlesque photoos made with the Thambar in the first half and the Noctilux in the second half. I don’t know whether the Noctilux also suffers from a lasting of stock 😉🙃

Well, the Thambar and the Noctilux are designed and made with love for amateurs and artists. All the rest is for mere pros! I notoriously own and use both ;)
