ppolla Posted November 7, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted November 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got the SL2, and am doing some tests. Is everyone having huge issues importing photos into Lightroom? I am seriously importing 15 photos for more than 30 minutes. They are all DNG. I am using a PC, and what should be a USB3 card reader. My card is a san disk Extreme plus 150 mb/s card. I have never had that issue with my mac before! Is there a trick that I am missing? Thanks!

knisely Posted November 7, 2020 Share #2  Posted November 7, 2020 I can tell you it isn't an Oregon problem. I can import 15 photos into a Mac in a minute or so.
Jeff S Posted November 7, 2020 Share #3  Posted November 7, 2020 No problem using an upgraded 2009/10 Mac Pro. Very fast. Maybe try switching SD card and/or reader. Jeff
Anakronox Posted November 8, 2020 Share #4  Posted November 8, 2020 I have neither a PC nor problems with speed when importing SL2 files into Lightroom.  One thing to try after you get your photos off the card - format the card in-camera and try again.
LocalHero1953 Posted November 8, 2020 Share #5  Posted November 8, 2020 No problems here. I import to a MS Surface Book 2, using its built in SD card reader. I can't say exactly how long it takes but that is because it never seems to be a problem.
ppolla Posted November 8, 2020 Author Share #6  Posted November 8, 2020 UPDATE I think it was two faulty card readers.....one USB 3.0 and one older. I just used a 3rd one that is USB-C and works great so far. Will do some more tests.
