Collapsible lenses on CL

Can any Leica M lenses collapse safely on a CL?    I am particularly interested in the Elmar-M 50mm f2.8 latest version.  Can it collapse completely or work partially with a limiting device?

Sorry but no. The Elmar-M is my favorite 50 but it stands extended on the CL. You may wish to do a search on the forum but you won't find different answers if memory serves me well.

I searched around again and stumbled of this older posting which lists a lot of approved lens including the Elmar-M 50mm.   I don't have a camera yet to examine the fit personally.

Both mentioned lenses can be found on the approved list.

I guess Leica is just lazy updating the list (The M-Adapter T was released in 2014).

Some newer lenses are listed on the bottom of the list, some are still missing (28 Summaron, 75 Noctilux) but they do work perfectly fine too.

I have no experience with the SL2 but i do use both CL and Elmar-M 50/2.8. The later works fine but cannot be collapsed into the body. If you do it the "tube" will hit the innards of the camera.

My 1953 50 Summicron collapsible works on the CL. The collapsed tube barely goes beyond the the M to L adaptor.

I own a collapsible Summicron 50 F/2.0 with works well on the CL. You can see what mention tommonego@gmail.com   that retracted it doen't go out the M- L adapter. Nevertheless always recommended to mount it extended, but you can retract it when attached.

I think the clearence behind the M to L adapter is 11mm, my 25 Canon fits and I used that lens until I had a 23 Summicron. At infinity it is 10mm behind the M to L adapter.
