dotandcom Posted August 12, 2006 Share #1 Â Posted August 12, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Finally, a shot taken during my visit with fellow forum members William Lamb and Ron Schmidt to Broughton Castle. For some reason, photographs of steps always seem to be taken looking up. I rather liked this view as seen from the top looking down. Â Sorry, this and the shots below were taken with a D2. My ears are still burning from William's strictures on my 'toy camera'! Â All the best, Â Chris

stuny Posted August 13, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted August 13, 2006 Chris - Â I like this composition for its light, tones, colors and details. the contrast between the gray stone walls and the warmth at the bottom is nearly magical.
stunsworth Posted August 13, 2006 Share #4 Â Posted August 13, 2006 Chris, just keep repeating to yourself, "it's the photographer that takes the photograph, not the camera" :-)
biglouis Posted August 13, 2006 Share #5  Posted August 13, 2006 Chris  Really nice shot. You get a real sense of how well trodden those steps are.  LouisB
lambroving Posted August 13, 2006 Share #6 Â Posted August 13, 2006 Chris, Â From the chapel? Interesting idea but a bit much fill flash for my taste. Â Steve, Â Whatever floats your boat. Some tools work better than others. Chris has better tools. I'd link to the old forum if I could, but only the text appears, not the pictures... dotandcom Posted August 19, 2006 Author Share #7 Â Posted August 19, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) John, Stuart, Steve, Louis, thanks very much for taking the trouble to comment. Sorry for the delay in acknowledging; I have been away. William, I figured that point-and-shoot was just about all I would have time for if I was to keep half an eye on you and Ron! Yes, the shot was taken on the way down from the chapel. You've got a good memory. Â All the best, Â Chris
Guest agnoo Posted August 19, 2006 Share #8  Posted August 19, 2006 Chris, i like the shot. It´s the photographer, not the "toy". And again thank you so much for all your endeavours in presenting us that perfect place the way you did.
