Tom1234 Posted October 12, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Found this old Leica M11 Release date post on March 2019 http://thenewcamera.com/leica-m11-coming-on-2020/ Surfaced by Nomen Nescio, Leica M11 camera is scheduled to arrive on Aug / Sep of 2020. Not only that, Leica also extended wireless certification of the existing Leica M10 camera upto 2022.03.26. So does Leica hit its release dates or not? Only Leica knows its release date targets, so only they know the answers. And under a pandemic, good luck to any company that hasn’t reassessed its business and product decisions and targets. In any case, the M10-R (and M10 Monochrom), with an entirely new sensor (based on the S3), DID hit the market this year. It’s been less than 4 years since the M10 was released (March was just over 3 years), while it took over 4 years from the M240 to M10. In the meantime, there are plenty of great options to consider, and more important things to be concerned about. masjah Posted October 12, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2020 Who says what constitutes an M11? The only sensible speculation in the absence of an official statement from Leica, is that it is an evolution of some sort from the M10. In that sense you could call an M10 R an M11. In any case, until Leica publishes a release date officially in advance, then there is no release date. Rumourmongering is exactly that.

Tailwagger Posted October 12, 2020 Share #6 Posted October 12, 2020 (edited) And, as we now know that prediction was 99% right. Jono had a test camera over a year ago, right in line with that timeline. The missing 1% of accuracy was the name of the offering. Not the M11, rather the M10-R (and M). [The rest of the miss ...timing... doesn't count due to Covid, which no one could have predicted.] Edited October 12, 2020 by Tailwagger

Mr.Prime Posted February 14, 2021 Share #11 Posted February 14, 2021 the M11 will, perhaps, re-use the guts of another camera as a way to reduce development cost.
