I recently discovered a colony of Ivy Mining Bees at Langdyke Countryside Trust's 'Swaddywell Nature Reserve' (between Peterborpugh and Stamford UK) . This a fairly new species to the UK ... first discovered in Dorset in 2001. The Ivy Mining Bee has spread relatively quickly to the midland and eastern counties ... fast population growth likely attributable to each female solitary bee's ability to produce up to 18 brood cells in a single nest hole. This short photo essay photographed using a Panasonic S1R / Leica R 100/2.8 APO Macro was posted onto the the Leica L Mount sub-forum https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/305981-images-from-panasonic-cameras-merged/?do=findComment&comment=4061326
