Advertisement Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hi geotrupede, Take a look here SL as webcam. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
meerec Posted October 11, 2020 Share #2  Posted October 11, 2020 Sure. I use it all the time. I got myself Elgato Camlink 4K, works absolutely flawlessly. OBS works with this combo for Zoom, WebEx stopped supporting virtual cameras so OBS is out for WebEx unless you’re prepared to endure using browser version not desktop version. Otherwise, SL2 with Camlink combo (no OBS) works with Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet, etc. ...

geotrupede Posted October 11, 2020 Author Share #4 Â Posted October 11, 2020 thank you both, so basically seems like SL1, purchase a HDMI interface, a cable and one is done. what about batter and power? and no concerns about time of operations? does this deteriorate the camera? Photoworks Posted October 12, 2020 Share #5  Posted October 12, 2020 I use a USB-C battery with rapid charging. It will allow you to make a longer usage, but not enough to keep you going uninterrupted .  Anker PowerCore 10000 PD Redux  https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-10000mAh-Portable-Delivery/dp/B0818M3CGF/ref=pd_rhf_ee_s_rp_c_2_0_5/143-3951256-5731630?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0818M3CGF&pd_rd_r=fab52ee7-b860-42ae-8f70-e80f9e342f35&pd_rd_w=TAyu3&pd_rd_wg=jUDQ5&pf_rd_p=eedb2e0a-dc98-41ea-a87a-c2ba640d1762&pf_rd_r=4F0MC44HPN98RRPXC1AN&psc=1&refRID=4F0MC44HPN98RRPXC1AN

What settings are you on please? I am on Video, shutter at 1/60, and video at around 30 frames per sec. Any other good settings you've found?
geotrupede Posted November 1, 2020 Author Share #7 Â Posted November 1, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi all a final question, I have located a cheap HDMi capture card, but what about the cable? can I use a standard one or is it like in the manual that you MUST use the 90 pounds LEICA one? I mean, a good cable, 1m long is 20 pounds... a super good one is 30... still far from 90. Would like to save some where possible. DO you know? Thanks G Â

Any HDMI cable should work, provided it meets the minimum spec (HDMI 1.4a I think for the SL, maybe 2.0 for the SL2).
geotrupede Posted November 4, 2020 Author Share #9  Posted November 4, 2020 thank you, I took my risks and got an Amazon HDMI cable (made by amazon) and a 9 pound HDMI acquisition card. It works for me. Total costs, around 15 pounds. Yeah, G>

faneuil Posted July 17, 2022 Share #11  Posted July 17, 2022 thanks - this thread really helped me get set up but silly question! How do set the SL2 to continually autofocus when using as a webcam? Or do you at all? Eric
