Wait, you can't change the battery? That's no good. Even with a power bank, you don't want to run out of juice in the field / on a job and have to put the camera away while it charges.

Still, it's a very intriguing camera and I'm very interested in its output and handling. I just hope that the inbuilt Lightroom doesn't need a subscription!

I was wrong! I had very old informations about battery. In actual tech. specs stands it is changeable…
Nonetheless it is waaaay too expensive for what it delivers…

Why would anyone pay $6000 USD for a ZX1 when you can get the smaller, lighter weight (compare the specs) Q2 with the 28 mm f/1.7 Summilux for $1000 less?

I already have a friend on Facebook who purchased one. I don't have an answer to your question, but they did sell at least 1 of them.. :)

The Zeiss may be good competition for the Leica Q series...i don't see price as a deterrent. And the minuscule photoquality difference, if any is probably  unimportant.

BUT...the inbuilt Lightroom to edit pictures in-camera is a bit weird...i don't even edit on a laptop or tablet.  Only edit on controlled lighting full size monitor.

Other than that, it'll all be in the quality control, reliability and bug fixes via updates, etc. That may be better than Leica.

All considered the Leica range should still reign.

I like the idea of full color control in camera but in a different way.

- Lightroom is restricting since it requires subscription to Adobe which maybe I don’t want and requires time for post processing.

- the ideal scenario would be to give curves and toning control over an in-camera interface to control the Jpeg engine and create your own profile. Something like what Fuji is doing or Nikon with that website (don’t recall the name).

no reason to have a third party vendor like Adobe in the camera. Just give us full control of the profiles with your own interface.

please Leica do the first move here to deliver something amazing (preferably over firmware on my q2 hehehe)

I notice B&H have one secondhand for sale... perhaps your friend didn't enjoy it 🙂
