Even with a power bank, you don't want to run out of juice in the field / on a job and have to put the camera away while it charges. Still, it's a very intriguing camera and I'm very interested in its output and handling. I just hope that the inbuilt Lightroom doesn't need a subscription! I was wrong! I had very old informations about battery. In actual tech. specs stands it is changeable… Nonetheless it is waaaay too expensive for what it delivers…

I already have a friend on Facebook who purchased one. I don't have an answer to your question, but they did sell at least 1 of them..
verwackelt Posted October 30, 2020 Share #23 Posted October 30, 2020 May be he will become a very strong promoted "Zeiss Ambassador".
Herr Barnack Posted October 30, 2020 Share #24 Posted October 30, 2020 Is being labeled a "Zeiss Ambassador" better than being labeled a "Master Photographer?" 🙄

david strachan Posted November 17, 2020 Share #30 Posted November 17, 2020 (edited) The Zeiss may be good competition for the Leica Q series...i don't see price as a deterrent. And the minuscule photoquality difference, if any is probably unimportant. BUT...the inbuilt Lightroom to edit pictures in-camera is a bit weird...i don't even edit on a laptop or tablet. Only edit on controlled lighting full size monitor. Other than that, it'll all be in the quality control, reliability and bug fixes via updates, etc. That may be better than Leica. All considered the Leica range should still reign. ... Edited November 17, 2020 by david strachan
Simone_DF Posted December 21, 2020 Share #31 Posted December 21, 2020 Initial tests looks REALLY good. Still not interested in this camera, but I'm sure that people who'll buy it will be more than happy with its performance https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7654895946/check-out-that-lens-zeiss-zx1-studio-scene-uploaded
verwackelt Posted December 21, 2020 Share #32 Posted December 21, 2020 I find it an interesting camera. But for a fixed Lens camera i find the price way too high (Leica Q too).
Simone_DF Posted December 22, 2020 Share #33 Posted December 22, 2020 The Zeiss looks definitely sharper than the Leica, and I find the colors more pleasing. But that's only one part of the equation. Hard to tell about handling etc.
DiStil Posted December 28, 2020 Share #34 Posted December 28, 2020 I like the idea of full color control in camera but in a different way. - Lightroom is restricting since it requires subscription to Adobe which maybe I don’t want and requires time for post processing. - the ideal scenario would be to give curves and toning control over an in-camera interface to control the Jpeg engine and create your own profile. Something like what Fuji is doing or Nikon with that website (don’t recall the name). no reason to have a third party vendor like Adobe in the camera. Just give us full control of the profiles with your own interface. please Leica do the first move here to deliver something amazing (preferably over firmware on my q2 hehehe)
vedivv Posted December 30, 2020 Share #35 Posted December 30, 2020 Leica can benefit for more user adjustability for JPG files. Would love color filter option for monochrome JPG photos.

Simone_DF Posted December 31, 2020 Share #37 Posted December 31, 2020 There are some reviews on B&H and it looks like the camera has many issues. Not just your typical first-gen issues, but glaring unfixable problems that will probably doom this camera.
