jaapv Posted October 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) The guests have left, the place is taken over by Kite surfers and our new dog - a stray from Portugal called Donuts, who came to live with us two months ago had his first walk on the beach. He was amazed by the sea. CL. 18-56 & 55-135 Welcome, dear visitor! Graham (G4FUJ) Posted October 7, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 7, 2020 Did he try drinking seawater? My collie-x wasn't overly impressed by seawater, but loved playing on the beach with other dogs
jaapv Posted October 7, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted October 7, 2020 No - he didn't - he is an extremely smart dog. He loved every minute, though.
fotografr Posted October 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted October 8, 2020 (edited) Good on you for giving that stray a home. Looks like a fine pooch. Edited October 8, 2020 by fotografr
jaapv Posted October 8, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted October 8, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) In fact he is amazing. When he came he had never been in a house before and was completely untrained; he didn't accept treats, as he never had one in his life (that was soon rectified). Within the week he was housetrained, knew to come , sit, give paw, walk stairs, get into the car, stay, lie down, let go, live with the cats, etc. even now, after two months, he comes up with something new every day. We think he is 2-3 years old. He is exceedingly affectionate and gets on with every other dog and human he meets. Still, he does show some symptoms of PTSS, but he can handle it.
