ehanpaul8 Posted October 6, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted October 6, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering the Leica SL2. I currently use a back button to lock the AF and the focus lock is disabled on the shutter release button. Ever since I have switched to this method I found it invaluable. Does the Leica SL2 have this capability within any of its settings? Thanks in advance!
Advertisement Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Hi ehanpaul8, Take a look here Leica SL2 Question on AF. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BlackDoc Posted October 6, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted October 6, 2020 Short: Yes. Longer: By using manual focus (non AFc/ AFs) you do have to press the back button if you want to use the AF. Otherwise you have focus manually.
Jeff S Posted October 6, 2020 Share #3 Â Posted October 6, 2020 I set mine to use back button AF, then magnify with tweak of focus ring if fine tuning is warranted. Â Shutter button press brings back full view. Jeff

Does the image stabilisation get active by pushing back button or with the shutter button in this way ?

I was asking for battery consumption. If it is working when we press the shutter in Back button Af mode then it is good.
