No sense at all. These microphones are weatherproofed and won't let moisture enter the camera. One thing that could happen when you tape, is that the adhesive can be squeezed through the holes and impair the microphones, making for an expensive repair.To my knowledge that has happened once or twice on taped M240-ies.

I was thinking about that, I put a piece of paper over the mics, than tape. Should be fine I guess

I too have taped my Q2's mic and speaker openings.  Not out of concern about rain, but dust. 

The original Q had some dust problems, requiring sending it in for disassembly and cleaning.  I have read of a couple of Q2s having that issue, too. 

Better safe than sorry, even if it was only 2-3 Q2s out of thousands sold worldwide.

Or maybe I'm just being OCD.
