andrewj Posted October 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think you can use the Fotos app to set the time in M10. Is this possible with the Q2? I've tried looking around, but haven't found this ability.

andrewj Posted October 25, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted October 25, 2020 To follow up on this, the latest update in the Fotos app, 2.2.1, mentions something improving date time/sync with Q2. I was hoping that this would mean that you could set the date and time through the app. However, I haven’t found this in the iPhone app. Anyone else have a similar experienc. Stephen_C Posted October 26, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2020 My recollection is that the camera automatically synchronises the time from the iPhone. Stephen
PhoToad Posted October 26, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2020 At least with my Android phone (Huawei P10), it doesn't work.

jaapv Posted October 27, 2020 Share #6 Posted October 27, 2020 Time syncing sounds quite useful, but why would you want to set the time using the app? The camera has a menu, right?

The camera has a menu, right? Setting time via the menu may get you within a second or three of being accurate. You can get that if you are patient enough to wait until the minute click over or you are careful with entry of the second field. Otherwise +/- 30 seconds is closer to what you will get. That may be good enough for most use, but not the specific case where you are trying to sync image timestamps to a GPS track log for geotagging. In that situation you want the most accurate camera time possible. Having an app set the time gets you within milliseconds -- or better!
