kai2ser Posted November 8, 2020 Share #5  Posted November 8, 2020 Alas, I seem to be getting the same error after a few weeks in Vietnam (far from Wetzlar!). The camera will keep seizing up after a couple of shots with different lenses. A workaround is to shift to the electric shutting (rather than hybrid or manual). This allows we to keep shooting for now. After coming back from the US to Vietnam, my Leica SL2 is also showing this System Error.  The problem goes away for a couple of shots with full shut down/resets, but then returns.  I got full day of shooting in today by setting the camera to electronic shutter, so this seems to be an issue attributable to the mechanical shutter? Not sure if there are any other resets that can be tried on the mechanical shutter?  Getting the camera to Wetzlar these days is not straight forward Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

kai2ser Posted December 13, 2020 Share #14  Posted December 13, 2020 The Hanoi store will ship to first Singapore, the Wetzlar, but this in sum seems to end up to be few months from what they say. My temporary workaround was to go with the electronic shutter, which addressed the problem.  After about an hour of video shooting it again went into more permanent system error. Will need to research if video avoids mechanical shutter.... With thought of being without camera for a few months question is whether better to troubleshoot for now until being back in Germany or US for a bit... but of course always a concern as a day of shooting can always end very prematurely! lecycliste Posted February 13, 2021 Share #16  Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) My SL2 is doing the same thing - indicates ERROR in top display, no viewfinder / EVF / LCD display, but I can see aperture changing in top display if I change the light in front of the lens. No pro0blems for four months, then I use a Metabones-adapted Macro-Elmar-R 60mm f/2.8, and after a day of photography it's locked up. Tried removing the battery for reset - still locked up with ERROR in top display on power up. Tried different lenses - Sigma L-mount 85/1.4 DG DN Art that worked fine for four months, Leica M lenses on M adapter L that also worked fine for four months. Still nothing. **Any insights or fixes?** Combination of camera button presses to reset camera?
