Advertisement Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here Can Leica R 35-70 f4 or 35/50 f2 cover 44x33 digital sensor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bobitybob Posted September 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2020 For the ones from your list that I have tried on my GFX 50R, the 50 Summicron is good, with just a vary faint amount if vignetting wide open, the 35-70 has more up until about 45 to 50ish when it resolves. I did post a few examples of test images in a tread in the R System Forum and a few others chipped in as well. You don't state the intended camera and I'm not sure if other's than the Fuji would produce the same results. Not wishing to plug another forum but you could take a look here https://fujix-forum.com/forums/ as there are a number of images using R and M lenses and Fuji Medium Format cameras. Einst_Stein Posted September 9, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted September 9, 2020 Watch the MTF curve between 18mm and 22mm, if the curve degrades significantly, the performance on 44x33mm would be significant worse than on 36x24mm. If the curve is gradually degraded or even turns up, its performance on 44x33mm would be close to 36x24,, Since the worst case is the widest focal length and widest aperture, I compared the 35-70mm f4 at 35,50,70mm, and 80-200mm f4 at 80mm. Judging from MTF, 35-70mm f4 works fine from 50-70mm, but not so good at 35mm. 80-200mm f4 works very well for all focal length. Welcome, dear visitor!
