Advertisement Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Hi rpsawin, Take a look here M10 Monocrom Files. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
strohscw Posted September 2, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2020 Well I am using Lightroom and Photoshop 2020 together with the Nik Filters. I am used to it even if I know that I use only about 10% of the capabilities of Photoshop. With these programs and the M10M I have no excuse for bad photos. 😀 Greetings Wolfram
Gobert Posted September 2, 2020 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2020 Lightroom here as well. I used to apply DxO, but they still do not support the M10M (if they will ever do). But you can use the DxO plug-ins in LR as well. But for some reason I like the M10M photo’s out of the camera and I don’t feel the need for f.e. Silver Efex. ymc226 Posted September 3, 2020 Share #4 Posted September 3, 2020 I'm using Lightroom and Nik. I don't use the NIK filters but adjust using the sliders but sparingly. The files are very malleable, of course more so than my M9M which I still use and appreciate.
Ken Abrahams Posted September 3, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2020 Yes, I use Lightroom and then Photoshop to process M10M files. I have Silver Effex and even Topaz plugins located within Photoshop to use with images that might lend themselves to further creative processes. icon80 Posted September 3, 2020 Share #6 Posted September 3, 2020 I have tried Lightroom and Capture 1 for the M10M and have settled on Capture 1. I like the Curves tool better. In addition, the application has a layers function, which allows non-destructive editing, which is especially good for dodging and burning without having to make a round trip to Photoshop or other application. I have a number of Mastin Labs styles / plugins within the Capture 1 app (also available in LR) and I find that these are often a helpful generic start point for some images (even for the Monochrom camera). These styles are available within the application, as opposed to exporting to third party plugins like Silver FX. The round trip out of LR or C1 into another application such as Silver FX or Photoshop requires the creation of new TIFF or PSD files, which are frequently of very large size. The editing tools available within C1, especially the easy access to layers, allows creation of any number of variants of the same DNG file, with non-destructive editing and without the creation of multiple extra TIFF /PSD files of large size. The export function in C1 allows the option of creating multiple "final" images in one process - whether for web display or fine art printing. LeicaS2 Posted September 7, 2020 Share #8 Posted September 7, 2020 Lightroom is my starting point. I once heard that working files in LR is like going to a health clinic. Photoshop is going to the hospital for surgery. Most of the time a clinic is all you need. I also use SilverEfxPro2 and I don’t know what the health equivalent might be? Outpatient surgery? I had not thought about the large files it might generate. I tried C1, but didn’t reach proficiency. Jack
tgray Posted September 7, 2020 Share #9 Posted September 7, 2020 Photoshop. When I say Photoshop, just Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). I think I've taken only a handful of files into Photoshop proper, and only to play around with them. I can do 99% of what I need to do in ACR. Very very similar to Lightroom, but I do not like the Lightroom library/interface.
Herr Barnack Posted September 7, 2020 Share #10 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Lightroom here. I have found that M10M files don't need major surgery, just a bit of a dustoff. Edited September 7, 2020 by Herr Barnack 1
