I have a Q2 and an Sl2+50mm Summilux-M with the M-L adapter and am very happy with the pair. I like the Q2 at the 35mm crop and the full 28, while the SL2 with the 50 Lux is great for portraits and when I want some compression. I've contemplated selling the Q2 and getting another lens to use on the SL2, but I don't think I can bring myself to do it. The Q2 is an amazing camera to hand to others (friends, my wife, strangers --just kidding). Anyone can take pictures with it and have fun with practically no effort. My wife loves it. It's also, of course, a wonderful camera on its own. It's the camera I bring even if I don't plan on bringing a camera wherever I'm going.

The Q2 is a lovely, flexible camera. But, I do find it harder to find critical focus, compared with the SL2-S. Probably easier than swapping to a new lens, however!

I don't think the third party adapters have any data transfer.  All I can say is that, of course, the Leica brand adapter fits perfectly and has complete data transfer - the SL recognises the lens every time - and I guess there would be two issues - if its just the data transfer alone - that perhaps is not that important (certainly when comparing the radical price differential!!) - but a bigger issue would be if the software then makes any adjustments relative to the lens, in camera?

I do wonder why this particular Leica adaptor is sooo expensive - the others, for example, the M to L adapter, are significantly less expensive.

I’ve got a cheap adapter arriving from Amazon. But, if there’s a data advantage to the Leica then I would definitely pay the extra!

The Leica R to L adapter has a rubber gasket for weather sealing on the end that mounts to the camera, which I like a lot. I tend to believe it makes a difference even when the lens itself is not weather sealed. Not sure if any third-party adapter offers anything similar. Does it justify the insane price? Probably not.
