olegn Posted August 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm thinking of buying an M-D to pair it with my Monochrome for having some color options. M-D looks like an exellent choice (in comparison to M10-D) for me because i like the 262 form factor better, i like the brass plate with black paint better, and everything else is better, exept maybe a shutter sound. And i'm doing a relaxed hobbie photography most of the time so no need for an exeptional image quality. Also i have both M9M and M10M and cant say that i like the M10M much more. But it turns out that its hard to find a new M-D - i found only 2 using internet and the price is over 7200$. While the price by itself doesnt shoсk me ( i may decide to sell one of the monochromes for this) it still look overpriced for an 2016 model. I want to ask is it a normal price for a M-D? And also what is an ok price range for a used one?(While the used M-D is also hard to find.) Besides the price questions i would appreciate to hear could there be some problems with M-D purchase nowadays - software, batteries, sensors? Thanks Edited August 13, 2020 by olegn

a.noctilux Posted August 13, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Hello Oleg, I'm happy M-D user since 2017 purchased after M10 (for fun). If I had M-D before M10, I would not have bought M10. For me they are two different M to use on different mood. My M-D shutter is not loud, just a bit different than my M10. On the best battery life (thousands pics, weeks of use), I can't see why bother. Nothing to complain on sensor or software ( only once firmware upgrade for time-out ! ). M-Ds are very scarce, I waited 1/2 year to find one second hand, as even by then no new M-D available. have a look in this thread, here If you're interested by sh, there is one on sale Grenoble France, see this link (3 000€) Edited August 13, 2020 by a.noctilux

darylgo Posted August 13, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 13, 2020 Used M60 would be the same sensor, minimalist design, beautiful body with the rectangular exposure meter window. You don’t get exposure compensation or a threaded shutter release, no lugs.

qrede Posted August 18, 2020 Share #7 Posted August 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Im considering selling mine. Bought new this februar, so still has lots of warranty. Only ~2.000 actuations, and near mint condition (must better than the french one being linked to above here, at least). Not sure what a fair price is, though. Pm me, and we could see if it is of interest to you..

olegn Posted August 23, 2020 Author Share #9 Posted August 23, 2020 Surprisingly found a new one in online shop for about 5500$. (Actually it will cost some more due to the delivery and some taxes.) I did a purchase and they said I'll get it in 2-3 weeks.
