Dr. G Posted August 9, 2020 Share #1  Posted August 9, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Over the past few days I've had the chance to use the 50mm Lux-SL and APO Cron-SL with both the SL2 and the Sl to see which combination I was going to keep.  On day 1 I only had the SL2 and the 50 Lux, On day 2 I had the Sl and the 50 APO Cron.  I didn't get a chance to test both lenses on the same body - but that's a whole other discussion.  What I did notice, is that the Lux has significantly more CA in a torture test type of situation than the Cron.  These are taken at two slightly different angles, but the conditions were roughly the same.  The first is the Lux, the second the APO Cron. Exposures and WB are slightly different, but I don't think it matters when comparing the CA. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Hi Dr. G, Take a look here 50mm CA - Lux-SL, APO Cron-SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ivar B Posted August 11, 2020 Share #2  Posted August 11, 2020 (edited) This is to be expected, is It not? The APO lenses are indeed apo. You could also correct CA in Lightroom. Edited August 11, 2020 by Ivar B
FlashGordonPhotography Posted August 11, 2020 Share #3 Â Posted August 11, 2020 OTOH, the *less than perfect* Summilux allows creative use of flair and draws differently because of it's aberrations. Sometimes perfection is great. Other times it's cold and clinical. Gordon
